DeAnn Tucker has over 28 years of combined experience in health information management, as well as privacy and security in acute health systems. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, the National Institute of Standards and Technology), Joint Commission standards, and payment card industry requirements. Ms. Tucker is also well-versed in state and local regulatory requirements. She is proficient in the areas of policy and procedure development, project management, and systems implementation. Over the years, Ms. Tucker has developed and maintained information privacy and security policies and procedures for various institutions, including training programs, ongoing compliance monitoring, and yearly risk assessments.
Ms. Tucker is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she received her undergraduate degree in health administration services, and the University of Southern Indiana, where she earned a Master of Healthcare Administration, specializing in health informatics. She is a registered health information administrator (RHIA), certified in healthcare privacy and security (CHPS), certified in healthcare privacy compliance (CHPC) and a certified coding specialist (CCS).
